We're a small team who were tired of the old way, so we made something better.
We started Steer because networking was making us feel less connected, not more.
As students, we didn't have family connections like some people did. We weren't at a top-ranked school. We didn't start building our network in the first year. We were playing catch-up trying to break into competitive industries without a head start.
So we did what we could. We messaged hundreds of people each week, followed up constantly, tracked everything in spreadsheets, and lived on LinkedIn. And it worked, slowly. We started getting meetings with industry leaders and referred to great companies. But the process took up all of our time.

It worked better than we expected. We started meeting with top VCs, authors we admired, and people way ahead of us. And we were spending less time and getting better results.
That's when we knew we had to share it.
